I grew up in Montreal where I studied creative writing at Concordia University while I pursued adventures in fashion and dance music all over the city's hopping nightclub scene. I first visited Banff, in the Canadian Rockies, in the early 1980s, and fell completely in love with the mountains and mountain life. I've lived in the Banff/Canmore area ever since.
I started writing about mountain life in the mid-1990s, and since then I've contributed articles about adventure and mountain history, culture and people to magazines and newspapers regularly, including explore, Westworld, Gripped and up! (WestJet) magazines, the
Rocky Mountain Outlook, Whistler Pique Newsmagazine, Jasper Fitzhugh and Calgary Herald. I also edit the Alpine Club of Canada Gazette.
When I'm not working as a full time freelancer, I'm outside ski touring, climbing, backpacking, and well, doing research! And I'm always keen to explore bigger adventures in writing projects and in the fascinating outdoor world. |
